AcupunctureAcupuncture is a complex medical system used to diagnose and treat illness, improve well being and prevent disease by encouraging the body to promote natural healing. It is the world's largest drug free healthcare therapy. It is compatible with Western (orthodox) medicine. It has been practiced in China for thousands of years and has been embraced throughout the world due to it's proven effectivness.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), channels of energy run in regular patterns through the body and over its surface. These energy channels, called meridians, are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish the tissues. An obstruction in the movement of these energy rivers is like a dam that backs up in others. The energy that flows through these meridians is known as Qi (pronounced 'chee'). Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine sterilized disposable needles into predetermined points on the body's surface to restore health. The aim is to regulate the meridians or channels of the body to unblock the stagnation of Qi, encourage the normal flow of Qi and restore health. Acupuncture can be used alone or in combination with any of the following TCM therapies: Cupping, Moxibustion, Auricular (ear) Acupuncture. | Acupuncture treats : • Stress, Anxiety, Insomnia

CUPPING
Cupping is the application of glass / bamboo/ plastic cups to the skin where the pressure in the cup is reduced (by using change in heat or by suctioning out air), so that the skin and superficial muscle layer is drawn into and held in the cup in order to increase blood supply and Qi to the area. It is used to remove toxins such as lactic acid and stagnant blood from muscles. It has a remarkable effect on stiff and aching muscles, activating secretion of synovial fluids releasing joint stiffness.
MOXIBUSTION
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small, spongy herb, to facilitate healing. Moxibustion is used on people who have a cold or stagnant condition. The burning of moxa is believed to expel cold and warm the meridians, which leads to smoother flow of blood and Qi. In Western medicine, moxibustion has successfully been used to turn breech babies into a normal head-down position prior to childbirth
